Unforgettable Mykonos: Must-Do Activities on the Island

Mykonos, a jewel in the heart of the Aegean Sea, is not just about pristine beaches and vibrant nightlife. This charming Greek island offers a plethora of activities to ensure an unforgettable experience. Here are some of the top things to do in Mykonos:

1. Explore the Old Town (Chora):

Stroll through the labyrinthine streets of Mykonos Town, with its iconic white-washed buildings and charming blue accents. Don't miss the chance to visit the famous Mykonos windmills and Little Venice, where you can enjoy stunning sunset views.

2. Relax on World-Famous Beaches:

Mykonos is renowned for its beautiful beaches. Whether you prefer the lively atmosphere of Paradise Beach, the serene Psarou Beach, or the family-friendly Agios Stefanos Beach, you'll find the perfect spot to soak up the sun and swim in crystal-clear waters.

We stayed at the Mykonos Princess boutique resort and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the Agios Stefanos Beach and I cannot recommend it enough. Breakfast was included from 8-11am (I got my fill of healthy omelette and Greek yogurt with fresh berries and honey every day). The service was superb and the views were incredible.

3. Water Sports Adventures:

For the more adventurous traveler, Mykonos offers a range of water sports, including windsurfing, jet skiing, and scuba diving. Explore the underwater world or ride the waves for an adrenaline rush.

4. Visit Delos Island:

Just a short boat ride away, the ancient island of Delos is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the archaeological ruins of this sacred place, home to the birth of Apollo and Artemis, and gain insight into ancient Greek history.

5. Party the Night Away:

Mykonos is famous for its vibrant nightlife. Head to beach clubs like Scorpios, dance at renowned nightclubs like Cavo Paradiso, and enjoy the live music and DJ sets that keep the island alive well into the early morning hours.

6. Savor Greek Cuisine:

No trip to Mykonos is complete without savoring the local flavors. Sample traditional Greek dishes at quaint tavernas and beachfront restaurants. Don't forget to try fresh seafood, gyros, and delicious baklava. I also had a scrumptious lamb shank braised in beer and truffle sauce at Karzama and it was absolutely divine!

7. Shop in Style:

Mykonos offers excellent shopping opportunities, from high-end boutiques to charming local stores. Find unique fashion, handmade jewelry, and souvenirs to take a piece of Mykonos home with you.

8. Sunset at 180 Sunset Bar:

End your day by watching the sun dip below the horizon at the 180 Sunset Bar. This iconic spot offers breathtaking views and the perfect ambiance for a sunset cocktail.

Note: there is a €25 entrance fee to enjoy their bar area (a drink included). But if you’d like a seat at a table with the spectacular views of old town, the live music performances and the sunset over the Aegean Sea then there’s a €70-200 minimum spend per person.

In Mykonos, there's something for every traveler, whether you seek relaxation, adventure, or a vibrant nightlife scene. This stunning island will captivate your heart and leave you with cherished memories of your Greek island getaway. 🩵🤍🩵
